Thinking of entering one of our Red Eye Writes! contests? Be sure to read this possibly boring but still pretty darned important fine print first…

• Your entry to any Red Eye Writes! monthly contest remains your own intellectual and creative property, but by entering, you give us permission to post it on RedEyeWriters.com and use it from our own promotional purposes.
• You may enter only original work of your own creation.
• You’re welcome to enter as many times as you’d like as long as each of your entries is unique.
• Only entries posted in the comment section of that month’s contest post by midnight on the last day of that month will be considered.
• If you’re under the age of 18, you must obtain parental permission prior to entering.
• Winners will be announced by the 5th day of the following month.
• Monthly winners will be selected by any or all of the Red Eye Writers (Angele, Heather and Laura) using completely subjective criteria that may or may not change from month to month. All decisions of these esteemed judges will be final unless the winner is disqualified for plagiarism, bad attitude, outright bribery, crimes against fashion or any other rule-breaking we deem flagrant and/or offensive.
• Any taxes or other prize-related expenses beyond Red Eye mug shipping will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
• Speaking of shipping, while we welcome entries from any country or celestial body, we also reserve the right to substitute a virtual Red Eye mug for the real thing for winners residing outside the United States both to reduce our carbon footprint (hey, we care about the environment!) and to limit our international/interplanetary shipping costs (hey, we care about our budget, too!).
• While we’ll do everything possible to ensure timely prize delivery, we take no responsibility for prizes lost during or after delivery.
• While we really, really adore our Red Eye mugs and plan to stick with ‘em as prizes for as long as we run Red Eye Writes! contests, we reserve the right to substitute another prize for any reason at any time.
• If your entry is selected as our monthly winner, you agree to provide your real name and shipping address within two weeks of our request in order to receive your prize. We promise not to post this information unless you give us permission to share your name and/or location when we post your winning entry.
• While anonymously posted entries are still eligible to win, we can only send prizes to entrants whose posted names match their email addresses. Is your email address mysweetandprettypony@writersbesuperdupercool.net? Post your entry using the name mysweetandprettypony so we’ll know you’re who you say you are when you email us your shipping info.
